Lotus Notes 8.x Tips

Creating Lotus Notes archive
Click Actions > Archive > Settings.
You must specify where you store your archive, and specify the number of days after which documents should be archived - Selection in Criteria tab.
Default value is 365, change it to a small number, such as 15, 30.
Viewing an archive
1)  Go to your email Inbox.
2)  Go to:  Tools -> Archive -> Default for Last Modified.

To flag messages for follow-up with a quick flag
1. Select one or more messages in a folder or view (other than Trash or Junk).
2. Click the "follow-up" menu above the message list.


To enable out-of-office notification
1.    If necessary, open your mail.
2.    Above the message list, click Tools > Out of Office.
3.    Specify your leaving and returning dates.
To disable out-of-office notification
1. Execute the same 2 steps above.
2. Click Disable and Close.

To search for words in the full text of messages
Use ctrl+f to search would not search full text of messages, to do that you have to:
1. Click View > Search This View to open the search bar.
2. Type the word or words to search for in the Search for field.
Create full-text index to improve performance
1. Click View > Search This View to open the search bar.
2. Click "More" to expand the view then click "Create Index".
