Sharing content using QR codes

How to create a QR Code

There are a lot of qr generator web sites, some provide advanced functions such as generate qr code from files, video/audio or wifi, VCard, but usually we have to pay for these functions.

The most simplest way is to just generate a qr code from a url: the url can be anything as long as it’s publicly accessible. We can put videos, audios, pdfs or any files in cloud storage like GDrive, Dropbox etc.

  • Select the file we want to share and be publicly accessible, then right click on it. then click “Get Shareable Link.”.

Put the URL in QR Generators

Next we just copy the url into QR Generator website: - https://www.qrcode-monkey.com/ - https://www.qr-code-generator.com/ - https://www.qrstuff.com/

Access QR Code in Android

  • We use Google Lens or Google Camera in Pixel phones, or other QR scanner Apps to scan the QR code, Android will open the files with right App automatically.

Scan QR Code in iPhone

  • Use Camera to scan QR code in iPhone, it would open the link associated with the QR code.
